Final adds of 2005, a bit of a whimper to be honest...
BestOf/Reissues
Bob Dylan -- No Direction Home: Bootleg Volume 7
Selections from the latest in the Bootleg series of rarities, alternate takes and live tracks. Start with 1, 2, 3 and go from there.
General
White Light Riot -- The Dark Is Light Enough EP
Melodic Indie Rock for fans of The Killers, The Strokes, The Libertines, TheThe (okay, maybe not TheThe, I got carried away) Play 3, 1 or 2.
We Are Scientists -- Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt
Incubus-esque melodies and Strokes like songs. Okay, but nothing all that new. Play the pre-break up song at 1 if you are a sad person.
Blues Jazz World
Neil Diamond -- 12 songs
Reviewer says: Diamond in the ruff - he's still barkin'after 3 chord opera of 2001. Rick Rubin produces this ribbon candy that reminds me of, well Neil Diamond. Sounds like: Johnny Cash's American recordings. Plat 2, 12, 1, 10.
Andrew says: Rick Rubin deems Neil Diamond his new pet project with sleep inducing results. I tried to review this and gave up rather quickly, couldn't Rick Rubin try Tony Bennet or even better Tom Jones instead of the Jazz Singer? This seems to go on forever.
RPM
Secret Mommy -- Very Rec
Ambient found sounds and glitch electronica. Sounds like Stereolab and Aphex Twin mixing easy listening. Play 5, 11, 2, 9 or 10.
Loud Rock
Necrophagist -- Onset of Putrification
Suprisingly decent Death metal, Technically Proficient with plenty of catchy riffs. Fans of Cryptopsy or Origin should try 7, or 6.
Bolt Thrower -- Those Once Loyal
Solid melodic Death metal with catchy riffs put together nicely. Play 1, 5, 9, or 2 if you enjoy Carcass, Centinex or some Slayer.
