I moved last week, so nothing got added.
These things are new this week...
Heavy Rotation
The Fully Down -- Don't Get Lost in a Movement
If there were not already a million bands in the scene that sound just like this, it would seem fresh and unique. Melodic emo punk that is actually pretty good musically. If you like Punchline, Aiden or Somerset then play 2, 3, 9 or 6.
Somerset -- Pandora
Melodic emo-punk for fans of Brand New, Alkaline Trio, Armor for Sleep and Moneen. Interesting instrumentation and some odd timing outside the standard 4/4 punk stuff. Play 4, 6, 10 or 1.
Excepter -- Sunbomber

ft (the shadow government) -- Guns of August

Compass -- Munchy the Bear
Stradling Bedroom Pop, Collaborative Folk-Pop and Avante Garde. This Album turns out some catchy and up-beat pop jams. Like Magnetic Fields meet Akron/Family. Try 1, 4, 14, 6 or 2.
Heros Severum -- Plague Dogs
Athens, Georgia melodic indie pop/rock with dueling male/female vocals and a heavy J. Robbins (Jawbox, Burning Airlines) influence throughout. Play 5, 8, 2, or 1 if you like Channels, Poster Children, Pixies, Sleater Kinney, Shellac or Ted Leo.
The Society of Rockets -- Where the Grass Grows Black
Rocks drawing from 60's Garage Fuzz and 90's indie pop. Like Beulah meets the Rolling Stones. Try 1, 6, 8, 2 or 5.
The Strokes -- First Impressions of Earth
An interesting departure from the previous two releases. However Casablancas sounds like Lou Reed + Mason Jennings now. Weird... Play 5, 1, 12, 13, 2 if you like Lou Reed, Velvet Underground, Velvet Underground, a slew of other bands from NYC.
Arctic Monkeys -- When the Sun Goes Down
Current NME darlings. Smarmy British garage Rock and F'ing Roll. Rob Crow of Pinback and Zach Hill of Hella collaboration. This delivers exactly what you should expect from both of these guys, in quality and content. Start with 1, 4, 6, 11, 9 or 12 and go from there. RIYL: Sweep the Leg Johnny, Hella, Pinback....
Wooden Wand and the Vanishing Voice -- The Flood

My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult -- Gay, Black and Married
How this band keeps putting out the same record over and over again is beyond me. Funky Disco Jams with lots of Vocoder and sexual innuendo. For fans of DaftPunk, Happy Mondays or any other Thrill Kill Kult record ever made. Play 1, 4, 11, or 6.
