Heavy Rotation

Cat Power -- The Greatest
At long last Chan Marshall puts forward a new offering. It is a different (more produced) sound that may disappoint long time fans (the sellout) but it is still a good album. Start with 2, 7, 4, 11 or 1.

Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins -- Rabbit Fur Coat
Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley fame takes Coner Oberst's advice and releases a solo album on his vanity label. Heartfelt lyrics and a paired down sound. Try 2, 3, 5, 10, 1 or the Dylan cover at 9.

Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti -- House Arrest
Reissue of the 2002 album. Lo-Fi pop gems that sound like 70's pop jams recorded in a tin can. Buchmeyer loves this album but warns that only the adventerous proceed. Try 1, 7, 5, 6, 9 or 2 if you like Animal Collective, Peter Gabriel or Daniel Johnston.

Belle & Sebastian -- The Life Pursuit
Cousin Carl claims to be bringing this back Saturday Night to add.

Casiotone for the Painfully Alone -- Etiquette
Depressing and Dreary themes and vocals set to dance beats. Dance all over his broken heart. Lots of cool cameos on this album as well. Fans of Postal Service or Magnetic Fields should try 1, 2 (Prince cover), 8 , 12, or 5.

Robert Pollard -- From a Compound Eye
Former Guided By Voices frontman releases yet another solo album. Thankfully this one does not sound like a collection of cast off GBV songs, instead it sounds like a full fledged GBV album with B sides.... Seperated into 4 'sides' with the last one being rather raw and Live. Fnas of GBV, Bob Mould, The Who, Sebadoh etc. should start with 3, 13, 17, 1, 9 or the instrumental at 2 and go from there.

The Minus Five -- The Minus Five (The Gun Album)
Scott McCaughey and friends put together another twangy indie power-pop gem. Lots of songs about guns, and as usual lots of popular guests. Play 5 (with Wilco), 6 (with Colin Meloy of The Decemberists on vocals), 1, 8, or 10. For fans of Wilco, Young Fresh Fellows, XTC, Camper Van Beethoven, The posies...

Clearlake -- Amber
Incredible third full length from Clearlake sees them reach full maturity with both reflective slow songs and raucous rockers. Dreamy British rock for the literate. Faster tracks to check out are 10, 1, 4 or 11 if you like slower stuff go with 2, 3, 6 or 8. For fans of British Sea Power, Snow Patrol, Pulp, Placebo, Interpol or B.R.M.C. among others.

Arab Strap -- The Last Romance
This Scottish Post-Folk/Sadcore duo have been bitter and sleazy for over a decade. Their latest offering if full of dark and biting melodrama; and a bit more of a rock feel. Play 2, 8, 3, 10, or 4 if you enjoy any of these bands: Sons and Daughters, Smog, Belle and Sebastian, Will Oldham, Bright Eyes, The Reindeer Section, Mogwai, Delgadoes, Songs:Ohia.

Tortoise & Bonnie 'Prince' Billy -- The Brave and the Bold
Interesting collaboration of lofi, somber Will oldham and electro post-rockers Tortoise covering a variety of artists and making the songs their own. Play 2 (Springsteen), 9 (Richard Thompson), 1 (Milton Nascemento), or 4 (Elton John) but you can't go wrong with any of them really. For fans of Tortoise, Will Oldham, Lambchop....

Saint Etienne -- Tales From Turnpike House
Laid back (downtempo) indie dance music with Female Vocals (the always amazing Sarah Cracknell). For fans of Annie, Massive Attack, Belle & Sebastian. Play 2, 4, 11, 8.

Dream Brother : The songs of Tim and Jeff Buckley
Tim and Jeff Buckley Tribute album includes tracks from Sufjan Stevens (3), The magic Numbers (1), Kathryn Williams (11), Micah P. Hinson (2) and Bitmap (6) among others.

Loud Rock

Bleeding Through -- The Truth sampler
A Return to the original sound of Bleeding Through that won so many fans. Play 1 or 2 if you like Himsa or Avenged Sevenfold.

Waterdown -- All Riot
German anti-racist punk/hardcore/Post-hardcore for fans of Unsane and Good Riddance. Try 1, 2, 3, or 6.

Demiricous -- One (Hellbound)
Thrashy American Metal some punk vibes and melodic influences. Play 1, 2, 4 or 5 if you listen to Exodus or Malevolent Creation.

Demilich -- Nespithe
Death Metal with awkward riff and time signitures. Unique vocals and at times fairly technical. If you like Demigod, Molested or any finnish Death Metal than play 1, 3, 4, 10 or 11.

Nocturnal Rites -- Grand Illusion
Power Metal with awesome vocals, catchy riffs and choruses. Fans of Iron Maiden or Judas Priest should embrace 1, 3, 6 or 8.

RPM

High Contrast -- FabricLive. 25
Drum and Bass mix featuring remix of White Stripes "Blue Orchid", Marky & XRS and others.[/u]

I'm not a big fan of Belle and Sebastian's latest. But, "The Blues Are Still Blue" is a good song.

Of course I've only listened to the album once.

I like funny little frog quite a bit. I also like the second track, but we can't play that.

removing the spam links makes it like dementia poetry.
"bamboo interrogation" would be a great album title/show name
