Heavy Rotation

Morrissey -- Ringleader of the Tormentors
Morrissey hates America, maybe that is what drives him to create mediocre albums. Standard Morriessy album with a few stand out singles. Play 3, 6, 1, 4 or 10 because indie kids love The Smiths.

Starlight Mints -- Drowaton
Norman, Oklahoma's #2 indieppop act returns with album #3 (each on a different label, this is their Barsuk debut). Sugary sweet with a quirky chewey center...oh, so good. If you are not aware of the Starlight Mints...for shame! For fans of Dressy Bessy, Apples in Stereo, The Eels, The Shins, Chainsaw Kittens or maybe The Flaming Lips. Play 3, 1, 12, 8, 11, 7, 5 ....oh just play the whole damn album!

Aloha -- Some Echoes
Indie Pop which relies on experimental composition and a wealth of instruments. Just what you would expect from an Aloha record. Play 3, 5, 7 or 4 if you enjoy Minus the Bear, Karate, Built to Spill.

Crystal Skulls -- Outgoing Behavior
Laid back pop music that can have the tendency to jam...if you dig Aloha, Spoon or The Sea & Cake then try 10, 7, 2 or 6.

The Submarines -- Declare a New State!
Husband and Wife duo out of Los Angeles. Debut album full of pretty sad songs about love. Mellow yet poppy like a sad Mates of State, Rilo Kiley or The Conretes vs. Ben Kweller! Go with 8, 3, 7, 1 or 4.

Lylas -- Lessons for Lovers
Light and laid back storytime pop for fans of Belle & Sebastian, Stephen Merritt or pedro the Lion. Play 2, 12, 3, 8 or 16.

Track A Tiger -- Woke Up Early the Day I Died
Midwest indie pop that is slow and dreamy at times. If you like American Analog Set then play 1, 6 or 2.

Matthew Sweet & Susanna Hoffs -- Under the Covers Vol. 1
Covers of songs from the 60s and 70s. Attempting covers of some of these songs is rather risky but for the most part they pull it off. Try 12 (zombies) 2 (Beatles) 6 (Love) 1 (Marmalade) or 7 (Beach Boys) and go from there.

Mia Doi Todd -- La Ninja: Amor and Other Dreams of
Sadly you probably are not familiar with Mia Doi Todd, your loss.
[The Buchmeyer review]
This release features 3 new songs and remixes from the likes of Dntel, Dungen, Nobody, and Flying Lotus. Fans of Beth Orton, Joni Mitchell, Emiliana Torrinni or Kate Bush should try 1, 6, 9, 3 (Beatles cover), 4, or 12.
[counter review from Nikola]
Remixes of Mia's "Manzanita" done by Nobody, Dntel, Reminder. Textured Pop, experimental, IDM without the D. Try 5, 10, 12, 6, 1, 9 if you like Nobody, Prefuse73.

Controller.Controller -- X-Amounts
Female fronted Disco Post-Punk from Toronto. 1st full length is somewhat dancey but nothing too ground breaking. Fans of The Rapture, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, or The Organ should try 3, 8 or 10.

Hip Hop

The Coup -- Pick A Bigger Weapon
San Francisco's not so overtly political duo of Boots Riley and funkstress DJ Pam deliver socio-political HipHop funk soul Marxism. Fans of Dead Prez, KRS-One, The Roots, Talib Kweli, Kool Keith or Andre 3000 should give this a listen. Start with 4, 2, 15, 3, or 11 but be warned some tracks (like 6) suffer a bit since this is an edited version of the album.

Tommy Boy Presents: Hip Hop Essentials 1979-1991 Volume One
Like the title implies, Hip Hop classics from Fearless Four (1) Salt N Pepa (5) Too Short (10) Marley Marl (6) and a 20 minute version of Rappers Delight by The Sugar Hill Gang (8)

L.A. Symphony -- Disappear Here
No Review. But Murs guests on a track so play that one.

Bisc1 -- The Basics EP
No Review, Lazy Asian

P.O.S. -- Audition
New stuff from Rhymesayers, but again reviewless.

Junk Science -- Feeding Einstein
Have I metioned the total lack of reviews on most these new Hip Hop adds?

Psyche Origami -- The Standard
Again, review lacking. But these guys do the theme to Samurai Champloo! [adult swim] bitches!

Loud Rock

Lacuna Coil -- KarmaCode
Follow-Up to the critically acclaimed album Comalies, little softer & a little worse but definetly worth a spin. Play 3, 1, 7, 2 or 13 (Depeche Mode cover) if you like Drain STH, Nightwish, hot Italian chicks that date guys from Slipknot/Stonesour.
