Heavy Rotation

Calexico -- Garden Ruin
Calexico returns with more of their Southwest Americana Indie Pop/Rock. Full of the sprawling sounds and earthy vocals you have come to expect from Calexico. Like Wilco meets Ennio Morricone, or for fans of Howe Gelb or Sun Kil Moon blah blah It's CALEXICO! Start with 9, 1, 6 or 10 (in French) but you can't go wrong with anything on here honestly.

Portugal, The Man -- Waiter: "You Vultures"
Hailing from snowy Alaska come Portugal: The Man. I swear the vocalist is a girl...but I am wrong. Heavily influenced by The Mars Volta but too poppy to be considered ProgMo. Not whiney enough to really be Emo, and put out by Punk label Fearless. A fairly unique blend of Indie Rock for fans of the aformentioned Mars Volta, The Unicorns, Blonde Redhead, The 90 Day Men or perhaps Enon? Try 2, 1, 7 or 5 and go from there.

General

Rhett Miller -- The Believer
Old 97's frontman's third solo release (first for Verve) is slightly less twangy and a little more 'pop' oriented than his band sound. Similar to Camper Van Beethoven, Ryan Adams or the standard poppy alt.country comparison of Wilco. Play 7 (a duet with Rachel Yamagata), 2, 10, 1 or 12.

RPM
7 adds for RPM but I was too busy with a guest from out-of-state during my show that I didn't have time to type it up.
